Reflections on Cambodia, Buddhism and Music

About the Author

Trent T. Walker

I just completed my B.A. in Religious Studies at Stanford University, with an honors thesis entitled "Quaking and Clarity: Samvega and Pasada in Cambodian Dharma Songs." I am currently a research fellow at the Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford, where my research interests include Buddhist literary, liturgical and musical traditions, especially in Southeast Asia.

I approach these topics from several perspectives: as a novice scholar trained in the critical tradition of Buddhist Studies, as a practitioner trained in liturgy and meditation, and as an aspiring "Buddhist theologian" concerned with the ongoing evolution and relevance of the religion.
